Pricing and Plans

How GitLab structures its pricing and plans.

GitLab offers a Free tier with core source control, issue tracking, and a metered amount of CI/CD pipeline minutes, followed by Premium and Ultimate tiers that progressively add features like advanced merge-request workflows, portfolio/epic-level planning, and built-in security and compliance scanning. Plans are available both as GitLab.com SaaS and as self-managed installations, with the same tier names applying to either deployment model.

Self-managed GitLab can be run using the open-source Community Edition or the proprietary Enterprise Edition, with Enterprise Edition unlocking the Premium and Ultimate feature sets on infrastructure the organization controls. This flexibility to choose between SaaS and self-hosting at any paid tier is one of GitLab’s more distinctive pricing characteristics compared to hosts that only offer self-hosting at the very top enterprise tier.
